Southern Fried Chicken Fakeaway
A crispy southern fried fakeaway made with Wotsit-coated chicken, wedges, BBQ beans and southern gravy. Inspired by @georgiaskitchen_ and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast, flattened
- 1 small bag of Flamin’ Hot Wotsits, crushed
- 1 tsp BBQ seasoning
- 1 tsp paprika
- Low-cal spray
- 1 portion potato wedges (fresh or frozen)
- Mayflower Southern style gravy
- 1 serving baked beans (with a dash of BBQ sauce)
- 1 corn on the cob

Method
- Flatten the chicken breast between two sheets of baking paper. Mix crushed Flamin’ Hot Wotsits, BBQ seasoning and paprika in a shallow bowl.
- Spray both sides of the chicken with low-cal oil spray. Press the chicken firmly into the crumb mixture. Spray again lightly, then coat with the remaining seasoning mix.
- Place the coated chicken in the air fryer and cook at 190°C for 20 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Add the wedges to the air fryer alongside the chicken (or cook separately). Air fry until golden and crispy.
- Make up the Mayflower southern gravy as directed. Heat the beans and stir in a little BBQ sauce. Cook the corn on the cob.
- Serve the southern fried chicken in a bun alongside the wedges, gravy, BBQ beans and corn.
