Crispy Shredded Beef
A bold and delicious crispy shredded beef fakeaway coated in a sticky chilli sauce with peppers and spring onions. Inspired by @georgiaskitchen_ and ready in around 30 minutes.

Ingredients
For the Beef
- 2 beef medallion steaks, cut into thin strips
- ½ tsp salt & chilli seasoning (or Chinese five spice)
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp caster sugar
- 20g cornflour
For the Sauce
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 2 spring onions, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tsp chilli powder or cayenne pepper
- 4 tbsp rice wine vinegar
- 50g low-sugar ketchup
- 50g sweet chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
To Serve
- Egg fried rice
- Chicken chow mein
- Vegetable spring rolls
- Mayflower curry sauce
- Sesame seeds & extra spring onion

Method
- In a bowl, mix salt & chilli seasoning, soy sauce, sesame oil and caster sugar. Add the beef strips and coat well.
- Add the cornflour and toss until every strip is coated. Separate the strips so they crisp properly.
- Place in the air fryer and cook at 190°C for 6 minutes. Flip the strips, then cook for a further 6–8 minutes until crispy.
- In a hot pan, stir-fry the red pepper, spring onion and garlic for 2 minutes. Add chilli powder, rice wine vinegar, ketchup, sweet chilli sauce and soy sauce. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly reduced and the peppers soften.
- Add the crispy beef strips to the pan and toss through the sauce for 1–2 minutes until fully coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion. Serve with egg fried rice, chow mein, spring rolls and curry sauce.
