Crispy Chilli Beef

A bold and delicious crispy chilli beef fakeaway topped with peppers, spring onions and sesame seeds. Inspired by @georgiaskitchen_ and ready in 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 180–200g beef strips
  • 1 red pepper, sliced
  • 1 spring onion, chopped (extra for topping)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2–3 tbsp Mayflower Chilli & Black Bean Sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp salt & chilli seasoning
  • Low-cal oil spray

To Serve:

  • Air-fried chips seasoned with salt & chilli
  • Spring rolls
  • Mayflower Chinese curry sauce

Method

  1. Toss the beef strips in salt & chilli seasoning and cornflour until fully coated.
  2. Air fry at 190°C for 12–15 minutes until crispy, shaking halfway. Or pan fry in a non-stick pan until browned and crisp.
  3. In a hot pan, stir-fry the sliced red peppers for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Add the crispy beef back into the pan. Pour in the Chilli & Black Bean Sauce and toss for 1–2 minutes until coated and sticky.
  5. Plate up the crispy chilli beef and peppers. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions.
  6. Serve with salt & chilli chips, spring rolls and warm curry sauce.
